Cajun, Dog of the World

Was out hiking with family and friends guided by our friend Ron (of Moab) this morning and saw you and Cajun heading up for a jump. After you jumped, Cajun was supposed to head back down. As hard as we tried, Cajun would not leave us. I started down to see if I could get Cajun to head back down but every time I stopped, she stopped! Here is a photo of Cajun keeping me company in the shade. I had thought she finally was on the way down and sat down to wait for the others. Up she comes, back by my side, and plops down again.

If she was tardy making her way down, it was absolutely our fault! She just didn’t want to leave us. LOL. Finally, my daughter (much younger and able) headed down and encouraged Cajun to lead the way. It took some effort, but finally she was going in the right direction. As they grew close to the bottom, and Cajun heard your whistle, she took off running! What a wonderful dog you have! We looked on line for your website and read about how you managed to get Cajun to go up and come down by herself. Very cool.

Thanks much for the wonderful morning and some time with Cajun.
Hope you like the picture!

Thanks Lynn,
I was worried she was annoying you and derailing your hike 🙂 She has actually guided people down from that hike before who got lost (though obviously you did not need help). She was a little late, that’s why I started back up to see what was going on–usually she runs back down in about 12 minutes so I was wondering what was going on up there. It seems like she really wanted to hang out with you guys: thanks for the picture!
Steph
