Thanks Sender Films for this great video clip! By pure luck, Pete Mortimer and Nick Rosen were in position when I sent Concepcion–so they captured some full-on yelling and screaming. Dean made the first ascent of Concepcion and did not rate it. I also have no idea of difficulty–for me, it was just really hard
I’m taking a trip to Boulder this week! I’ll be giving a slide show called “High Places” this Thursday night at Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder. The show is about free soloing (the Diamond and Castleton), learning to skydive, wingsuit and BASE jump, and what all these things have in common–namely, dealing with fear.
