I have attended many events and listened to countless speakers over my 40 year career in sales at IBM and Lenovo. Steph Davis is by far the best speaker I have ever experienced. She exemplifies confidence, commitment, preparation and innovation. All key attributes of a successful sales person. She will have your team on the edge of their chairs.

CTG’s High Achievers Event has a diverse group from the US and Europe, most speakers lose our European group within five minutes… However, not Steph, everyone was engaged as soon as she started speaking! Steph’s message is geared towards sales even though she is an expert at climbing, base jumping, as well as writing and speaking. As an extreme sport athlete it takes a tremendous amount of preparation, confidence, focus and passion’ these attributes also apply to any sales team to be successful. All of the attendees quickly related to Steph and in turn she related to them. Everyone talked about her speech throughout the rest of our event and the group agreed she was one of the very best! I would recommend Steph for your keynote speaker for any type of group and you will not be disappointed.

Steph Davis is quite simply one of the most impressive people I have ever met. Her story is compelling, enthralling, powerful, and relevant. Simply put, Steph delivered excellent results. When we contracted with Steph, we gave her one mission; help our audience of emergency department doctors understand what it meant to raise your game and leave them wanting more! Considering that she was presenting to an audience of that deals with life and death every day, this was no small task.
Steph’s unassuming appearance and soft tone belies her absolutely unbelievable, risk intense, life threatening career. Our audience of high octane ER physicians were left gape mouthed and silent in awe. We were enthralled as this tiny powerhouse threaded her story of pushing the limits of fear through preparation, discipline, communication, trust, teamwork, perseverance, and keen focus. Indeed, her message was relevant to the very skills and best practices our physicians must employ everyday in their mission to save lives.
The theme of our conference was Raising Your Game and Steph knocked it out of the park. I would highly recommend Steph Davis for any organization or company wishing to motivate an audience to raise their game. She ties the practicality of her sport directly to the message of her audience and is so likeable and approachable, you regret when the event is over. She was on time, professional, and courteous and gave freely of her time to the audience. Steph raised the game of our conference providing memories for years to come.

Steph, thank you for being a part of our annual sales meeting. Your presentation was amazing. Everyone connected with you and your message and walked away awed and inspired by your confidence, commitment, focus and passion for what you do. It was a pleasure working with you to prepare for the event. I was impressed with how quickly you understood what we were looking for and were able to translate that into your presentation. It was spot-on with the 1st draft! ! I’m back in the office today and people are still commenting on how much they liked it – and you. I really enjoyed getting to know you and working with you on our meeting.

Steph’s ability to relate and connect with the audience was amazing. Her interaction during the meeting as well as at the evening event were more than we could have asked for. Her story and message clearly hit the mark and everyone is still talking about the meeting and her presentation.

Executive Director, Lenovo Inside Sales

Steph, you were the highlite of the festival and engaged the audience in the question and answer after your presentation in a way that none of the other keynote speakers we have had accomplished…unquestionably people warmed to yourself and your presentation …thank-you for providing our audience with a memorable and thrilling evening!

Dig Deeper was the theme of a recent conference we conducted for a group of emergency physicians. Steph redefines the concept of dig deeper- understanding that where we are and what we are doing today can be done better; that focus and determination get us where we want to be; understanding that there are times where there is no room for error. These attributes describe Steph Davis’ dynamic life. Those of us in the audience were amazed and mesmerized that this small woman had so much resolve and strength, and spoke of these incredible feats with unbelievable simplicity. We know from her presentation that none of these feats occurred by chance but only through strenuous training and a steadfast focus on her goals. With calm and grace she delivered the message “we can try harder,” “we can dig deeper” to our captive audience.
Listening to Steph share her death-defying adventures was FUN, interesting and inspiring (although, I admit that I will not be scaling canyon walls or jumping off cliffs anytime soon!). Steph Davis reminded us all that we are all capable of so much more than we ever imagined…we just have to dig deeper.

DCIM101GOPRO
Professional Rock Climber, Alpinist, Base Jumper and Wingsuit Pilot
Steph Davis is a legend in the extreme sports world, known for her ropeless free solo ascents and base jumps of long and committing rock faces and peaks and for her achievement across climbing disciplines. Steph’s second book, Learning to Fly, was released by Touchstone/Simon & Schuster in April, 2013. Her first book, High Infatuation, was published by the Mountaineers Press in 2007. Her blog, High Places, was ranked in the top 3 climbing blogs by Outside Online in 2011.

Steph is also an avid BASE jumper and wingsuit pilot. She is one of just a few people in the world, and the only woman, to be combining free soloing with BASE, and has made a specialty of climbing and jumping desert towers in the Utah desert.

Steph grew up in Illinois, Maryland and New Jersey studying classical piano. She went climbing for the first time as a college freshman, and became consumed with rocks and gravity. Steph graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and went on to earn a Master’s degree in literature. She then made the tough decision to forgo scholarships to law school in order to become a full time climber. At first Steph supported herself by waitressing and guiding, while organizing expeditions to South America, the Arctic, the Karakorum and Asia to make first ascents of huge walls and alpine routes. Now she is a full time sponsored climber and a writer.

In 2007, Steph became drawn to skydiving, wingsuit flying and then base jumping, and quickly applied her natural focus and drive to excel at air sports. She soon began finding ways to combine her skills by climbing and jumping from spires. Steph’s achievements in climbing and base jumping cut across categories of gender or nationality. She was the first person to base climb the North Face of Castleton Tower, the most iconic desert spire in Utah. She was the first woman to summit Torre Egger in Patagonia, and the first person to climb it in a day. Steph is the only woman to free solo the Long’s Peak Diamond, the first woman to free climb El Capitan’s Salathe Wall, the first North American woman to summit Fitzroy, and the first woman to climb Shipton Spire in Pakistan. She was the first person to fly a wingsuit from the Long’s Peak Diamond.

Steph is unique not just in the high risk activities she pursues, but in her approach and her motivation for these sports. Her style is marked by discipline, intelligence and focus. Her goal is not to seek jolts of adrenaline or to pull off wild stunts, but rather to achieve seemingly impossible dreams through calculated, well-planned progression. Steph’s success has come not just due to her athletic achievement, but to her focus on outreach, community building and branding. She was one of the first athletes in the outdoor industry to recognize the importance of social media, and has built a powerful brand around her image.

An engaging and passionate speaker, Steph talks of managing fear and the idea that success is measured not by a single win, but by a philosophy of thriving which is marked by consistent excellence. She emphasizes the value of discipline and calculated risk. Confidence and positive mental outlook are as important as physical preparation. Drawing parallels between musical training and extreme sports, Steph highlights the skill of learning to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses with honesty in order to go to the next level when the time is right. She believes in the importance of practice and progression, and she demonstrates that any project, no matter how intimidating, can be broken down into manageable parts. Having spoken for audiences ranging from climbers to yoga instructors to sales managers to CEOs, Steph is notable for ability to tailor her message and be relevant to varied audiences. She has spoken in America, Canada, Europe and Japan, and is comfortable with simultaneous translation.

An animal lover and vegan, Steph is also an excellent topic presenter on health, nutrition, athletic performance and branding.

Steph has been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic, Outside Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Shape, Health Beauty Life Magazine, CNBC.com, Planet Green Discovery, The New York Times Magazine and on Outside Television.
